So I did something slightly embarrassing yesterday… I decided to use Chaptgpt’s new image generator to make myself look “just 2 years younger.” You know, nothing dramatic – just enough to erase those two pandemic years that apparently etched themselves permanently onto my face.
What could go wrong? It’s just 2 years! It’s not like I was asking to look like my college self again (which would require advanced quantum physics, not just AI).
Well, friends, the AI had… opinions. The image it generated looked like someone who might be distantly related to me, perhaps a cousin who made significantly better life choices or possibly a stranger who once stood behind me in a coffee shop line.

It was like asking for a minor touch-up and getting a full digital witness protection program instead. The AI basically looked at my photo, tilted its algorithmic head, and said “I understand the assignment… but I don’t understand YOUR FACE.”
I’m choosing to believe the AI was simply overwhelmed by my natural charisma!
But on a more serious note, this hilarious fail reminded me of something important: For all the amazing advances in AI, it’s still a long way from perfect. Technology can help us do remarkable things, but it still requires human oversight, common sense, and occasionally, the ability to laugh at ourselves when it goes hilariously wrong.
So I’ll continue embracing my actual age, wrinkles and all. Because apparently, even AI thinks I should stick with the original version.
Anyone else have amusing AI fails to share? Drop them in the comments!
